Classes are taught in a small group setting of 4-8 children and lead by a trained instructor & occupational therapist. The goals are to teach children to use purposeful communication to help build confidence and learn to interact with their peers appropriately. Skills addressed, but not limited to, include: how to initiate play with peers, leadership, dealing with bullying, feelings, team work, and turn taking. Interventions include materials from Michelle Garcia Winner's "Thinking About You, Thinking About Me" and other social skill builders.
